My total worth was a backpack full of dirty laundry, enough traveler’s checks to scrimp by for a couple of weeks, a plane ticket back to a boring job in a Tucson ad agency, and a pocket-sized book called See and Point. It was the fall of 1975 that I wandered off a boat in Tangier’s harbor and first set foot on the coast of Morocco. See and Point had small pictures of most of one’s daily needs, in alphabetical order. . Point to the photo and someone would surely point you to a hotel, oftentimes teaching you their word for hotel. My See and Point had nursed me around Europe with a fluency, so I gave it a chance to see and point me around North Africa. Thus began my journeys in the beautiful country of Morocco. Follow me as I bring you Morocco from the 20th Century to the 21st Century and experience and enjoy Morocco.
